SCRIPT 20170715 Migration
Overview:
NewCrop is currently moving all screen users to the new messaging standard, SCRIPT 20170715. This is the new messaging structure established by the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP). This change will have minimal impact to prescribers’ normal workflow and largely impacts the structure of the raw message sent to the pharmacy.
New Prescribing Requirements
Height and weight – height and weight are now required for all patients under 19. If this is not populated, the user will be prompted to populate the height and weight before sending the prescription.
Patient address – full patient address is required under the new SCRIPT standard. If the address is incomplete, then the script will be sent by fax. To send electronically, the address must be populated in the EHR.
Pharmacy Renewals
Requests for scheduled drugs that are received from pharmacies on the older standard may only be denied. If the user intended to accept the renewal, then it will need to be denied and the prescriber will need to write it as a new prescription.
All renewals must be answered promptly, and completed by the end of each business day. It will not be possible to answer older format renewals using the new SCRIPT standard, so once the transition is completed for the practice, the older renewal requests will no longer be able to be processed.
